Searching for a VESA adapter bracket to mount your iMac to an arm or wall, but not have been able to find one, they are not alone. Thousands of users of 17-inch iMac and 20 inch models were left to figure out how to connect your computer to the systems VESA mounting. With these models of iMac's stand is not easily removed. The iMac all-in-one computer was designed to be a portable system, such as a laptop, allowing users to move into your home or office and take with them on their travels. The option to remove support (foot) and its replacement by a VESA bracket interface was not included with some models of iMac, including: Aluminum iMac 20 inch Intel iMac 17-inch and 20 W G5 iMac / iSight 17 and 20-inch iMac G5 (2006 and later) 17 and 20 inches.
The ability to mount the iMac to a wall or mounting system requires that the iMac has a VESA compliant interface to attach. To the size and weight of the iMac, we suggest that this interface offers 100 x 100 mm hole pattern for insertion. Furthermore, to remain the industry standard these holes must use screw fasteners 4 mm.
Not long ago, a client wanted its iMac computers mounted on the wall to save space and work was supposed to support VESA adapter available from Apple. When it came time to purchase the VESA adapter kits, we found that these games were interrupted or not offered at all. Finding the necessary arm and the mounting brackets mounted on the wall was simple, but attaching the iMac to the mounting systems was a new challenge.
Further investigation reveled many iMac users looking for the solution of VESA adapter, but no prevail. It became clear that to meet the needs of customers, I would have to create an adapter kit from scratch. In discussing the draft with the client adapter kit and the people he had spoken with online, some requirements for the kit shown. The first 3 requirements are:
(1) The adapter kit would not require the holder to be removed from the iMac. This provides the user the ability not only to set up your iMac to save space, but also use the iMac as a portable system from the stand remains intact.
(2) The retrofit kit be interchangeable with the 17-inch and 20 inch iMac computers and providing a simple method for the connection.
(3) The VESA adapter kit must be aesthetically appropriate for the elegant iMac.
These requirements and others were considered in developing the VESA Adapter Kit for iMac, and finally met. The adapter kit provides a VESA mounting solution for both 17 inch and 20-inch iMac, including the new aluminum iMac, 20. There would be no need to buy a new computer when upgrading to a new model. The interface provides the necessary support 100 x 100 mm means of attachment and mounting plate with the iMac is very simple and requires no modification to be made to the iMac. The kit is suitable and blends aesthetically with the iMac.
