No matter the speaker cables into a new home theater system?
I just got a new home theater system Onkyo and I still have to configure it. Before to do so, I must go buy some special speaker cables? Do they really make a difference? I have always used Monster cables to connect the components, so probably I'll stay with the others.
For a high-end music, speaker cables make a small difference. But the sound HT is very different. It is highly compressed, low, the focus is on video and not playing a favorite movie over and over and over again as you do your favorite songs. Thus that the speaker wires do make a difference close to a movie as it does with music. Monster makes decent stuff, but there is a profit margin of 50% sales retail and 50% markup to pay for the marketing of all. So unless you get an employee discount, you're paying a premium. My advice: get a free spool of good oxygen 12 g of a building as PartsExpress speaker and use it everywhere.
