What cable do I need to play my iPod through TV?

I'm trying to play my iPod videos through my tv. I ok failed to connect these directly through my tv, however, I want to connect through my Bose surround sound system. I connected the leads to my Bose and sound plays, but then not have a picture through my tv. If I play it thorugh my TV, I have picture but audio through the television. Is there such thing as an audio splitter and video, through which I connect the audio through the Bose and the divisor, and video over cable television and the separator. I have an audio splitter in the home, buit this only play audio and video has no division. Does anyone know where I can get that cable. Sorry for children is a support for Apple.
